I hope you managed to squeeze in some BBQ, fireworks, and maybe even a little R&R over the long holiday weekend! There's something magical about a long weekend that gives us just enough time to step back and think about the bigger picture, right?

And speaking of stepping back... I know... I know... it's been a hot minute since my last newsletter! Life (and college baseball) has a way of keeping us all busy in the spring. But I'm back and ready to dive into some real talk about YOUR BUSINESS.

It is hard to believe that we are already past the halfway point of 2025 (YES, it really is July). Which means, it's time for our Mid-Year Reality Check.

So... how are things really going with your business? Let's find out... shall we?

The 5 Questions You Should Be Asking

1. Is your business on track to hit your Revenue goals?

Revenue is just one of the metrics and I'm certain you're all tracking, right? After all, we're all in business selling something! 😅 If you're not sure, well, it's time to take a hard look at your numbers. If you're behind, there's still time to course-correct!

2. How's your cash flow looking?

Is it flowing like a gentle stream or more like an unpredictable sprinkler head on the golf course? Summer can be tricky for many businesses! Are you successfully managing your cash flow from month to month?

​

3. What's your profit margin telling you?

Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity! Honestly, it doesn't really matter what you make (revenue) as much as what you keep (profit). Are you actually making money, or just staying really, really busy?

​

4. Are your expenses under control?

Those "small" monthly subscriptions multiply faster than rabbits. 🐰 Seriously, when did we all become subscription collectors? Take a hard look at your expenses... line item by line item. Make sure there's no 'extras' that shouldn't be there. Time to trim the fat!

​

5. Do you have a clear financial roadmap for the rest of the year?

Winging it might work for weekend plans, but your business needs a real roadmap! 'Cause if you don't know where you're going (destination) and don't have a plan in place to get there (a financial GPS), how do you know what where to turn if you need to course correct?

🚩You're not sure what your actual profit margins are (and you're afraid to find out)
