** IMPORTANT REMINDER NOTIFICATION **

Hi Reader,

So have you ever had one of those weeks where you had to just clear your calendar of any appointments, meetings, happy hours, whatever... because your college son calls you and tells you he's at the ER with a broken clavicle?

Yeah, that was me a few weeks ago. So I did what any Mama Bear would do ... I cleared the calendar and packed a bag 'cause baby bear needed help with... well.. pretty much everything! Getting dressed, standing up out of a chair, sitting down in a chair, preparing meals, doing laundry. The list goes on. Good news is, he's on the road to recovery and should be good as new before Baseball Season in the spring!

Unfortunately, all that meant I needed to cancel my Oct 3 Workshop. Time to reschedule.

2023 Extension Deadlines

FILING EXTENSIONS for Sole Props/LLCs & Corporations,
Deadline: Tuesday, October 15

Yes, tomorrow Tuesday...October 15. You're welcome!

If you are a Business Owner who files taxes as a Sole Proprietor or an LLC or if you are a C-Corp and you submitted an extension on your 2023 taxes, the wait is over!! Deadline is tomorrow. And boy is your CPA thrilled!!

Let's talk 2025 Business Planning!

Guess what? There is only 10 weeks (and 2 days) until Christmas. What?? You know what that means? it's time to plan for business in 2025! As a small business owner, you'll want to be prepared so you can hit the ground running.. or get a head start now.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • How did the business do this past year? Did you hit your goals?
  • What are your Revenue Goals for next year? Profit Margin goals?
  • Which product offerings are the MOST profitable?
  • Are you adding/removing or changing your product offerings?
  • What metrics did you tracking? Do you need to adjust them for next year? Or maybe you need to START tracking metrics!
  • Do you need to make any big investments next year (i.e. hiring and training new employees, running new marketing campaigns to push a product launch, etc)
  • What about any capital equipment purchases? (Pssst: RIGHT NOW is the time to check with your CPA if it makes sense to purchase big ticket items before year end -- Tax deductions!)
  • Have you set aside time to create your 2025 budget?
  • How much money do YOU want to make (Owner's Draw) next year?

That last one is probably THE MOST IMPORTANT one and should help you drive decisions about how to set your goals and budget for next year. These are just a few of the questions I discuss with my CFO Advisory clients at year end.

Need a little help? I'm getting ready to publish a new blog article that is all about preparing for end of year and beyond! So be on the lookout for that soon.

In the meantime, please check out my current blog articles here and let me know what you think: https://cloud9.financial/blog-posts/

And feel free to shoot me a message about what YOUR goals and dreams are for YOUR business in 2025!

Here's to a great October!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I cannot believe that we are almost halfway through January! One of my boys is already back in Hawaii at college for spring semester. The older one goes back next week for his very last semester in college and will be graduating in May. Am I really old enough to have 2 boys that are almost finished college? I tried to disconnect and spend as much time as I could with them. But, it's never enough <sigh>. How about you? Were you able to 'close shop' and get some quality time...
